The 2023 vintage was one of precipitation extremes.  Hardly a drop of rain fell from April to mid-June, which led to a bountiful pollination. In July, the rains began, with an entire vintages worth of rain, 12 inches, falling in four weeks. The final 2 months were dry as a bone, save hurricane Lee’s brief pre-harvest visit to town. Despite the July downpour and pre-harvest hurricane, this vintage yielded a highly structured and concentrated wine. The final blend is approximately 88% cabernet sauvignon, 7% petit verdot and 5% merlot.
